Our wedding planning song has been "All the birds of a feather" from the cartoon Rio. Let that inspire your mood as it has inspired our wedding design!

Dress Code

Come however you wish! Come dressed for a colorful garden cocktail. We hope for a fully outdoors wedding, which means 20–25°C during the day, and 15–20°C after sunset.

Dancing

There will likely be a Bulgarian Pravo Horo, and a Brazilian samba and forró. We encourage you to practice at home and make cross-cultural friends to help you on the dance floor.

📍 The Venue

Jardim Botânico da Ajuda is one of Lisbon's oldest and most enchanting botanical gardens, with sweeping views of the Tagus river.

Flights

Fly into Lisbon Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS). The venue is approximately 20 minutes by car from the airport.

Accommodation

We recommend staying in the Belém or Ajuda area to be close to the venue. A list of recommended hotels will be shared soon.

Good to Know Before You Go

What is the dress code? +

Garden party elegance — dress in color! Think vibrant hues inspired by nature.

Can I bring a plus one? +

Yes you can - just let us know in your RSVP form. If something changes, you can change your RSVP form via your confirmation email (technology!).

Will there be parking at the venue? +

Limited parking is available at Jardim Botânico da Ajuda. We recommend using a taxi or rideshare.

What time should I arrive? +

Please arrive by 3:45 PM on Sunday for the ceremony, which begins promptly at 4:00 PM.

Are children welcome? +

Children are welcome at the celebration. Please include them in your RSVP. We will have an on-site animator and (eventually) a list of local nannies to help with childcare. Families with children can look into booking one of the several AirBnBs right next door to our venue to keep an eye on your little ones if they need to go to bed early. Yet, we don't know anything about childcare, and we expect to have ~20 children ages 1-8, so we really appreciate your help in everyone having a good time.

Will the events be indoors or outdoors? +

The ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors in the garden. If the weather allows it, dinner will be outdoors too, and dancing will be in a covered area. We recommend bringing a light layer for the evening.
